#SCCON24: Federal Ministry of the Interior and for Home Affairs takes over patronage
The Smart Country Convention (SCCON) is casting its shadow ahead and is once again proving to be the leading event for the digitalization of the public sector. From October 15 to 17, 2024, experts from politics, business, science and administration will meet in Berlin to discuss the latest trends for smart cities, smart regions and digital administration.
Nancy Faeser opens the SCCON 2024
Interior Minister Nancy Faeser will officially open SCCON on October 15. This is the seventh time that the Federal Ministry of the Interior and for Home Affairs (BMI) has assumed patronage of the three-day event, demonstrating how important the digital transformation in the public sphere is for Germany and Europe.
In addition to the BMI, the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), the Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF) and the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB) are also taking part.
Five stages and over 600 top speakers
Participants can expect an inspiring program on five stages with more than 600 national and international top speakers from politics, business, administration and research. Highlights include speeches and keynotes by Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs, Federal Minister of Agriculture Cem Özdemir (BMEL), Parliamentary State Secretary Elisabeth Kaiser (BMWSB) and Liechtenstein's Prime Minister Daniel Risch.

SCCON 2024 offers a wide range of topics relating to the digital transformation. Whether cloud solutions, IT infrastructure, artificial intelligence, data economy or digital participation and sustainability - the leading event for the public sector will focus on current discussions, challenges and innovative solutions for the digital future of cities and public authorities.
