Nancy Faeser, Federal Minister of the Interior and Community, will open the Smart Country Convention as acting patron. And Dr Marco Buschmann, Federal Minister of Justice, Klara Geywitz, Federal Minister of Housing, Urban Development and Building, Cem Özdemir, Federal Minister of Agriculture, Dr Volker Wissing, Federal Minister of Digital Affairs and Transport, Bettina Stark-Watzinger, Federal Minister of Education and Research, and Kai Wegner, Governing Mayor of Berlin, will also be on the stages of SCCON 2023 with their keynotes. The Federal Ministry of Finance will also be represented with an exhibition stand.

International expertise on four stages

With a total of 400 national and international speakers on four stages, SCCON offers a multifaceted programme. Dr Ariane Berger, head of digitalisation at the German District Council, and Frauke Janßen, digitalisation officer for the German Cities Council, are just some of the minds that will provide fresh impetus. Ott Velsberg, the state-appointed data protection officer for Estonia, will travel from Estonia to provide a glimpse into the digital development of his country. And Sebastian Greiber, mayor of the municipality of Wadgassen, will show how the digitalisation of the city of Wadgassen is being implemented.

Digital economy meets innovation

But it's not just politics that is calling the shots here. The digital economy is also on board. Maximilian Ahrens from Telekom Deutschland, Nikolaus Hagl from SAP, Markus Vesely from A-Trust in Austria and Michel Heinze from ekom21 are on stage to present their innovative solutions for the digitalisation of administration. Ekom21 KGRZ Hessen, for example, is dedicated to interoperability in the public health service. Corinna Krezer from Accenture will show how technology can turn visions into reality.

Science meets practice

Science will not be neglected at #SCCON23 either: Birgit Schenk from the Ludwigsburg University of Public Administration and Finance heads the Competence Centre for Transformation in the Public Sector and will share her expertise. The centre is a direct contact for the public sector and thus drives digital transformation.
