Stadt.Land.Tech: SCCON under the sign of digitalization for city and countryside
The goal of SCCON is to accelerate the digitalization of cities and communities. After all, modern technologies should not only make life in cities and rural areas easier and more livable, but also strengthen the country's crisis resistance and digital independence. Michael Pfefferle, Head of Smart City and Smart Region at Bitkom, emphasizes: "Stadt.Land.Tech stands for our approach of taking the arc further than from model project to isolated solution: we want to bring the innovations to the surface."
The broad spectrum of digitization will be brought into focus at SCCON 2023. In addition to the topics of mobility and energy, sustainability, data platforms and current tech trends, the focus will also be on municipal practice. A first insight into the extensive congress program is available here.
Urgent need for action in digital administration
There is a particular need for action in the area of digitalization of administration, as a study by Bitkom Research from last year shows. Almost 9 out of 10 citizens (88 percent) in Germany would like to see their city or municipal administration pursue the topic of digitization more intensively. But so far, only 20 percent of the roughly 600 planned administrative services are available digitally. "The OZG balance sheet after five years was sobering. That makes it all the more important to bring the stakeholders together and work together on the digital future. The Smart Country Convention is exactly that: the meeting place for the public sector in Germany," explains Marc Danneberg, Head of Public Sector at Bitkom.
The stages at SCCON 2023 will highlight various aspects of the digitization of public administration, including the digitization of citizen services, justice and education, as well as security issues such as the protection of state infrastructures, cybersecurity and cloud solutions.
