From October 15th to 17th, 2024, everything in Berlin will revolve around the digital future of the public sector. This year, the Smart Country Convention will provide more international insights than ever before: with approximately 600 speakers and exhibitors from over 10 countries, the event offers a platform for exchange beyond the borders of Germany and innovative solutions.

Pioneering digital administration in Latvia

This year, Latvia is the official partner country of the Smart Country Convention. President Edgars Rinkēvičs opens the SCCON and thus gives the starting signal for numerous best practices for the digital transformation of his country. At the Networking Night, the Latvian Minister of Economy Viktors Valainis presents lighthouse projects that can serve as models for international exchange.

European role models and a look into the future

Representatives from various European countries such as Liechtenstein, Northern Ireland and Greece will provide an insight into their digitalization projects. The discussion on artificial intelligence and its use in public administration, which will be led by Greek Minister Konstantinos Kyranakis, will be particularly exciting. A panel of experts with participants from all over Europe will be discussing the challenges and opportunities of digital cooperation across national borders.

Ranging from companies from Austria and Estonia to firms from Hong Kong and the USA - the expo will be a platform for pioneering solutions from the digital sector. Institutions such as the Smart City Hub Switzerland and the Austrian Association of Cities and Towns also underline the international character of SCCON 2024.

A premiere: International Matchmaking

International Matchmaking will take place for the first time at SCCON. This format, organized by the Enterprise Europe Network, enables participants to make targeted contacts and initiate cooperation with international partners. Start-ups, research institutions and small and medium-sized enterprises in particular are thus given the opportunity to advance their projects globally.
