With the annual Call for Speakers, the Smart Country Convention provides a platform for innovative lighthouse projects from municipalities and public authorities. Almost 200 exposés have been submitted since April 2024. A total of 23 of these projects will be presented on the #SCCON24 stages from October 15-17. The variety of contributions could not be greater.

"Once again this year, we are delighted with the wealth and innovativeness of the contributions and projects submitted," says Tom Albrecht, Head of Conference Program at the Smart Country Convention. "Our Call for Speakers shows how diverse the topic of digitalization is being implemented in municipalities and public authorities and how concrete solutions can emerge from initial ideas."

Visitors to the leading digitalization event for the public sector can look forward to these contributions, among others:

The Klingenstadt Solingen shows how a digitally sustainable smart city infrastructure can be created with the help of open source systems and strong economic partners. The smart city infrastructure and its channels, such as the Open SmartCity app, are thus developing into a central municipal information system. The declared goal: an Open Smart City Ecosystem. More information on Smart City Solingen can be found here.

The IT Planning Council project group "Semantic Interoperability" of the Federal Ministry of Finance gives a sneak preview of the results of its working group and shows how data content and legal terms can be harmonized and coordinated between different institutions in a resource-saving and efficient manner. Goodbye to duplicated workloads!

The State Ministry and InnoLab Baden-Württemberg present the AI prototype F13, which can summarize extensive sections of text, answer research queries and provide text modules. To make administrative work even easier, the project team is now working on a full version - to the delight of employees and citizens alike.

The United Nations Development and Trade Organization (UNCTAD) has developed a solution to meet the challenges of increasing data complexity. It uses optical character recognition and classification algorithms to reduce manual workload, optimize resource allocation and improve data accessibility.

Not just the leader of the Bitkom Länderindex, but also a SCCON speaker: the City of Hamburg is partnering with Nortal to develop a new solution for Life Situation Management within an innovative project to create a proactive and personalized administration. The project is about transforming access to administrative services by providing them seamlessly and, in future, also via mobile devices.

These and many other exciting sessions on the future of smart cities and digital authorities await visitors on the stages of the Smart Country Convention 2024 from October 15 - 17 in Berlin.
