Even though the Smart Country Convention is still about six months away, the first exhibitors have already signed up for the expo - including the German Federal Ministry of the Interior. IT and digital policy is a major area of the BMI's work. In the coalition agreement of the traffic light government, a Smart City Competence Center - based at the Federal Ministry of the Interior, is planned. As in previous years, the BMI and several other ministries will use SCCON to network with experts from the industry to advance digitization in Germany.

One of these experts is the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft from Munich. It develops innovative technologies for the world of tomorrow. Whether artificial intelligence, climate technology or next generation computing - the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft plays a decisive role in the field of the digital economy.

Even a global player like Google cannot miss the Smart Country Convention 2022. It is particularly important for administrations and public authorities to be able to provide and archive data securely. Smart cities and smart regions present best practice examples

But those implementing smart development on the ground, in their municipalities and administrations, will also be at the Smart Country Convention - like the South Westphalia region. The Hochsauerlandkreis, Märkischer Kreis, Kreis Olpe, Siegen-Wittgenstein and Kreis Soest have joined forces here with the "Economy for South Westphalia" association to jointly advance the topic of Smart Country. And this through very concrete examples such as blockchain for companies from the region, digitalization in math lessons or the digital learning and working center Soest. The smart development of a region shows itself in very different ways - exchanging, networking and learning from each other is the motto at the Smart Country Convention.
